Main Equipment and Configuration of the Hot-Dip Galvanizing Production Line for Structural Components

Modern high-performance continuous hot-dip galvanizing lines for wide steel strips typically consist of entry, process, and exit sections arranged in a multi-level (upper and lower) configuration; the ground-level equipment can span up to 260 meters in length, while the cooling tower-the tallest component-can reach a height of 37.5 meters. Following the galvanizing process, the steel strip undergoes a series of post-processing operations-including air knife systems, skin-pass mills, tension levelers, drum shears, and coilers-to produce the final galvanized steel coil. Complete galvanizing production lines are often accompanied by downstream processing facilities, such as heavy-duty recoiling and inspection lines, as well as semi-automatic or fully automatic packaging lines.

Galvanized steel sheets are widely used in the construction industry, the automotive and shipbuilding sectors, and the home appliance manufacturing industry [7]. In the automotive industry, they are utilized for components such as vehicle bodies, outer shells, inner panels, and floor panels-particularly in the form of high-strength automotive steel sheets.
