Zinc-alloy coated steel sheets-such as Al-Zn (Galvalume), Zn-Al (Galfan), Zn-Fe (Galvanneal), and Zn-Al-Mg (ZAM)-are being developed to enhance properties like corrosion resistance and paintability; to facilitate production, galvanizing lines frequently employ a movable, vertically adjustable dual-pot system.
Developments also include zero-spangle steel sheets, galvanized sheets made from ultra-deep-drawing or high-strength steel, and sheets with ultra-thin coatings. Zero-spangle sheets offer reduced intergranular corrosion and extended service life. Interstitial-free (IF) steel is typically used to produce hot-dip galvanized sheets for automotive applications requiring heavy or ultra-deep drawing; furthermore, adjustments to chemical composition enable the successful production of galvanized dual-phase steel sheets and galvanized alloyed dual-phase steel sheets.
Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection Technologies
The production line features an optimized energy structure and utilizes energy-saving servo-hydraulic systems to reduce energy consumption per unit of product; heat sources for the cleaning section, the post-skin-pass cleaning system, and the drying units are all supplied by the annealing furnace's waste heat recovery system.
Adhering to green design principles, the cleaning section's circulation system employs advanced technologies-such as multi-stage overflow and fluid recycling-to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction; additionally, a range of eco-friendly equipment specifically designed for hot-dip galvanizing has been developed and implemented, effectively addressing the issue of the "three wastes" (wastewater, waste gas, and solid waste) associated with the process.
